Copy after The Angel Appearing to Zacharias, Domenico Ghirlandaio in the Tornabuoni Chapel, Santa Maria Novella (Florence) is a 1860 watercolor by Domenico Ghirlandaio, a Impressionism work, held at Victoria and Albert Museum.
This painting shows a scene from a church. There are many people in robes, some standing and some kneeling. They are all looking at something happening in the center of the room. The room has a big archway and some columns. The walls have carvings of people and animals. The people in the painting are wearing different colors. Some are in red, some in purple, and some in green. They all seem to be watching something important. The room is decorated with gold and other fancy things. This painting is like others from the Impressionism movement.
A watercolor depiction shows an angel communicating with a man in a red robe, identified as Zacharias, within a richly decorated room featuring an apse. The composition includes a group of onlookers arranged around the central figures. The artwork was created as a copy by Cesare Mariannecci for the Arundel Society and was acquired by the current holding institution in 1995 from the National Gallery of London.
