This painting shows four people and a rooster in a room. On the left, an old woman looks on as a younger man, wearing a hat, sits at a table. He's holding a cup and has a bowl in front of him. On the right, two men sit at the table. One is older and wears a blue robe. He holds a large, ornate bowl. The other man is younger, shirtless, and holds a small bowl. A rooster stands near the younger man's feet. The room is dimly lit, with the light coming from the left side. The people are all looking at each other, and the atmosphere seems calm. The painting is done in warm colors, with lots of browns and tans. The artist who painted this is Jacob Jordaens.
Jacques (Jacob) Jordaens (19 May 1593 – 18 October 1678) was a Flemish painter, draughtsman and a designer of tapestries and prints.
