About this work

This image is a sketch of a bearded man with long hair, wearing a flowing robe. He is supported by two angels, one on each side, who are also dressed in robes. The man has his right hand raised, and his left hand is resting on the shoulder of one of the angels. The sketch is done in brown ink on laid paper, with visible lines and shading that give the figures depth and dimension. The overall effect is one of movement and energy, as if the figures are in motion. The use of brown ink and the loose, expressive lines give the sketch a sense of spontaneity and immediacy.
